Why, you ask? In honor of Mr Art Roflmao, that's why. I figured I simply must enter this challenge for that reason and that reason alone. My shot does not do him justice, but merely honors one of the objects he uses in his creations. Consider it Woody's day for his studio portrait.

Oh, and it gave me a reason to use that POS tripod Robert gave me such crap about.

Post processing - Standard jpeg version from the camera; rotate, crop, some sort of curves adjustment, a huge lot of brightness/contrast adjustments, grayscale, duotone in red, back to RGB, resize, border. I'd done a whole lot of burning which I then deleted.

Cool shot and also a fitting tribute to Gloria Swanson as well, "Mr. Demille, I'm ready for my close up" LOL. Great shot!! very nice lighting and composition. Way to go!!

Deb, I sometimes get drawn in a second or third time when I see them again, and this shot is one of those times. Just wanted you to know. :)

This is cute. I really dislike woody shots in general. So, for me to like it is good. LOL. The shadows and light play are great!

Great combination of lines and shadows, ribbed woody, and blinds. I should have scored this higher, but I'm glad that it is still here to appreciate more.

I feel I've neglected your woody. I only gave it a 6 and didn't comment on it. This is an example of how spending more time with each picture would help me appreciate more. Nice use of chiaroscuro, which evokes the movie that is the source for your quote. I suppose I wanted you to recreate the whole scene...

Nice shot Deb. Great use of the natural lighting. The shadow work really makes the image. A little soft on focus maybe but not enough to effect my vote. Good work.

Very sharp shadow on this one. Overall, the image may be too overblown in the highlights of the foreground. Your shadow, though, is extremely carved and grabs the eye most.

Nice cute classic feel. The blind shadowsa are almost distracting. Maybe a touch more contrast in the whole overall. just a touch. Very well done though.

Stark, very "artsy". Like the tones you've used and the extreme lighting and contrast. Quite different from the other entries in this challenge. It will be interesting to see the voters' reaction. I, for one, like it! :-) Best of luck to you in the challenge.

This is a nice image. It is balanced and leads your eye from woody to his shadow and back. Well done.
