Now I didn't know this exhibit had been to Vancouver too... It seems to be staying in Crosby for a while! Great shot by the way.

Silly me, 16 years in Germany and I still can't get it right :-) Good on you for picking it up, you don't miss a thing do you?

Congrats on a fantastic pic too.

Thanks for all the comments.

> Firstrich1: So would I (love to know more about the sculpture). I found it on a Vancouver Beach well after sundown, apparently a transient piece. The fog was so thick, you couldn't cut it, and the light you see in the photo is what my lens picked up. To my eyes it was pitch black.

> timmi: the raw shot, indeed, had a slightly orange hue to it. I desaturated and deliberately changed hues slightly to achieve a more subtle effect here.

Yes, a very moody shot with intriguing subject. The flash is too hard and kills the vibe slightly but it's still good.

I would love to know more about this monument. A nice use of low light. the way the statue is surounded by the dark and the age of the metal, gives this an almost foreboding quality with also a feeling of hope in the way its gaze is to the heavens. though i do not get the feeling of dream or nightmare, i still think this is a well done photo. 7

Interesting shot. Love the texture on the statue. You have nice contrast of the black with the colours of the statue and the sky. My only suggestion would be to boost the sky colour a bit to complement the orange in the statue.

Great image, the heavy background to the luminous statue is a great combo for a dreamy feel, the lighting and composition are wonderful, as is the subject. Lots of room for dream interpretation here.

At first glance I thought this was a real person and thought, "EWWWW, would would allow themselves to have that stuff put all over them?" , LOL! But upon closer examination I see it's a statue, DUH! :)

This is one of my favs for portrait itself, the lighting, the dark to light, the colors on the statue really appeal to me and the statue gives the impression of a day dreamer, wondering what else is out there. Well done.

One of my favorites. The flash (I assume) gives a nice sharp outline to the statue, distinguishing it from the sky in the way dreamers are separate from their dreams.
