No actual mustaches or bed sheets were used to make this picture. This is a reflection of myself in a window with a screen in front of it. levels, curves, slight crop, color balance, selective color (used to up contrast), resize, sharpen with big radius

post-challenge: this photo has been immensely satisfying for me. I got wonderful comments, two favorites and SEVEN 10s! As far as the score goes, it's more than I thought I would get! Thank you, DPC! Thank you, Academy! Thanks, Mom and Dad!

I already commented on this, but it is still one of my all time favorites. The position of yourself in the frame, the color palette, the texture and grunge, all come together to make a masterful impressionistic portrait of a proud and dignified artist. I think this would be great printed on canvas and hung above your mantel piece or on the dining room wall.

I understand it is bad Karma to add a "posthumous" photograph to your list of favorites. Great shot.

my first reaction when this popped up, "Oh My God." Yes, out loud even. This is it. This is the one. Can't explain it. And then I got to the title. Its the only one that would work! In a Frank OHara, "Oranges" kind of way this is IT. Thank you!

absolutely cool! weird and interesting - a winning combination for me:) it has some kind of a sacred spirit in it - really really great work but so highly underrated!

This is a pretty shot, a very unusual portrait. I didn't vote on it. One displeasing thing about this shot is the presence of weird blotches of colour/noise; you can see them clearly in the hair, in the left shoulder, and the top left corner. Also, a little distracting detail - the white vertical piece of (I assume) window frame behind you is overlapping. Since I can't see how it adds to the shot (it's not like it adds any context - without the commentary I would not know that this is a window frame), the shot would be better without it, I think.

I was one of the '10's ... you got ripped off! Sorry only 26 people recognized your photo as true art. Geez...

I am amazed that this photo scored so low... I came back to it quite a few times. For the life of me I couldn't imagine how you could get a reflection in a bed sheet but was sure looking forward to you posting how it was done... lol.

Very impressive image. I don't know how you thought of using a sheet for a reflector, or how you made it work. Hope you'll share.

You may have used a very interesting technique to achieve this photo, but the end result leaves me thinking that this is an extremely low resolution snap shot and lacks interest.

Very interesting effect. I wonder how you did...
I'd prefer if the crop wasn't too tight on the right side.

There aren't many who will like this photo, I'm afraid, but I'm not one of those. I love the impressionist feel and the apparent wrinkles in the fabric. Lovely and timeless.

This is one of the cooler shots I've seen in a challenge in some time.I am very curious to see how it fares here on DPC. From me, Mister Avg Vote 4.x - this is an absolute 10. Great work.
