This is an old barn I drive by every day. I finally stopped to take a photo of it! My point of view was too low, so I finally stood up on top of my car.

The mountains in the background are the Wellsville Mountains, the steepest mountains in the world (the angle of the mountains from ridge to base is the smallest). I can't believe I live in such a beautiful area!

To those who may say that it should be cropped: you're just plain wrong. Negative space...aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh...feels so good...

PP: Used the channel mixer, heavy on green, low on blue. Reds were also a bit higher to bring out the textures in the red of the barn a bit more. I NeatImaged the sky. I also selected the shadows on the barn itself, which were very black and used the Highlight/Shadow feature to bring out some of the texture there, too, then I used a tiny bit of motion blur on these areas so it wouldn't just look like noise. I used unsharp mask with large pixel radius and low percent first, then just sharpened it, resized, resharpened, faded the sharpen until it looked good, added the border, and I think that's all... Enjoy!

Excellent b&w conversion, the tones are great. I love this scene and composition, although some of elements are so strong that they really compete against one another.

Shades of "Moonrise, Hernandez, New Mexico"... YOu knew that, right? This is a very rich conversion, lovely tones. It's a little blocked up on the leftmost shadows for my taste, but very nice.

Beautiful lighting here and great contrast. The movement in the clouds adds to the depth in the picture and conveys an emotion of isolation. Very well done with instant impact.
