I do love what HDR (or Topaz, for that matter) can do for B&W shots. And I really love distortion. This has it all in spades. Way cool.

Thanks. Here's a piece of trivia for anyone that might bother to read this....

The CN Tower is three times taller than the Space Needle, at 1815 feet compared to 605 feet. If the Space Needle were standing where the CN Tower was for this photo, it would have been obscured by the tree in the centre of the road and probably not shown up at all.

Here are some numbers to put things into perspective:

1815 feet = CN Tower
1670 feet = Taipei 101
1483 feet = Petronas Towers 1 & 2
1450 feet = Sears Tower
1250 feet = Empire State Building
605 feet = Space Needle

I guess you might say Torontonians really feel the need to overcomphensate. ;-)

Just wait until he gets a blue, then it'll be impossible.

It appears that you used a rather wide angle lense on this shot. It came out a little distorted (Thats Toronto for you!) however it works well in this shot. The distortion draws the viewers eye into the scene and really adds to the depth here. Well done. 9

11/16/2006 02:33:00 PM
Really cool shot...like the unique angle and the wide view. Tones throughout are just fantastic. My only small nitpick is I wish we could see the top of the building on the right side.
