I entered this in the diagonal challenge first but after a day I thought of this title and moved it to this challenge. Glad I did.
I really thought the beach was too dirty to look really good but I see it was overlooked in favor of the subject - as I had hoped.
WOW, I'm still pinching myself!

I'd imagine it would have ribboned in the diagonal challenge as well but definitely does fit this challenge to a tee.

Hey, good for you! First ribbon, personal best by a huge amount! We had a "temporary memorial" like this at Wellfleet on Cape Cod about a month ago, it was very moving.

Great shot! Just saw this sort of thing in Huntinton the other day. Didn't get up close but you could see it from really far away. Love the angle you chose.

Contemporary photo. Nice lines, good (well, connected anyway) message. I like the composition with your placement of the man in the extreme upper left and the lines formed by the crosses add a natural element for the viewer. Only minor bummer...very minor...is being able to see the edge of this layout just past the man. Would be nice to think the rows extend unended (not for numbers of the fallen - just from a perspective viewing point). Well done. Good luck in the challenge.

Very well composed, possibly place the guy just two rows backwards, but otherwise excellent. Really speaks.

Composition is beautiful. Love the subject in the upper left third in black against the lightness of sand and crosses. Just startling and beautiful.

Powerful in a way, but missing something. Maybe better in B and W, or with the person larger in the frame.

Very moving, humbling photograph. Very much famous last words. It's so sad that we never seem to be able to heed them. Very insightful and touching. An emphatic "10" in my book.

What an AWESOME shot! :) The lines of crosses lead the eye into the shot and the man adds a point of interest. Extremely well composed and a perfect balance of highlights and shadows. I'm assuming this is the memorial in Santa Monica - what a sobering sight to see in person...

Deep message. Nice shot too. I like the way you have the person to add interest and the crosess form a nice pattern. It's just a shame they exist at all.
