2 images,

Main image is a mountain scene somewhere in Norway. The moon was shot hand held with a 70-200 F4L and 1.4 converter.

The main image was shot during full daylight with overcast sky. The real sky had no color in it at all. There is a gradient fill from blue to pale orange behind the star field. That is what gives the slight glow at the bottom of the sky.

The reflection is real, no Flood effect. The stars were created using the following tutorial

//gallery.artofgregmartin.com/tuts_arts/making_a_star_field.html

It uses the noise filter in Photoshop, layers, levels, brighness and contrast, and gausian blur. It is a lot of fun if you have some time.

Lots of masks and levels, D&B, B&C.

USM and Neat Image.

I can't wait to see all the cool entries!

I am shocked that this one isn't on the first page! This was the first image that blew my socks off when it popped up on my screen.

Difficult to appreciate the photo because of the reflection, The shore line cuts the image almost in half and I find I am looking up, then down - never at the whole photo, plus everything converges in the center and I realize I never really did look at the sky. I really like color contrast of right buildings to the b&w building on the left.

The sky looks too fake to me. Maybe it would be better if it didn't have such a strong purple hue.

The moon and the sky appear to be a collage for me, it doesn't look natural or naturally incorporated to the image.

this looks like a painting on velvet, but hanging on the wall of a very interesting person. 7

Beautiful. I fear you may suffer a bit from miscalibrated monitors with this but the effect is breathtaking. Well done!

This is a nice photo, I like it. However I would probably like it better if the moon were a tad smaller.

Cool idea but seems too dark- yea I know it's night but it is also as fake as you want it to be- so maybe in this world the moon would light up things more? I do think this is a super shot, and I like the way you did the sky.

It is very unfortunate that the snow (?) on the trees left so closely mimics the stars int he gap. I find it very disconcerting. There is also an overall, dirty yellow/sepia tint to the whites that I don't care for; but otherwise this is very striking and I like it very much.
