A candle through a glass Amaretto.
It was my second, so luckely I had a tripod :-)

Shooted in raw, noise reduction and some cropping/sharpening.
Had to change my standard sharpening method ( //news.deviantart.com/article/20250/ ). I don't know if this is allowed with basic editing, so I used standard photoshop sharpening (don't think it's better).

After the votes: I can live with the critiques, too much mess on my desk, although it didn't disturb me. Thank you all for comment.

You needed to clear up the clutter on your set more. There are far too many distracting reflections. Also, I don't feel it meets the 'brown' challenge well.

The idea is nice, but, since you have full control of everything in the picture, doing a still life like this requires a level of perfectionism that goes way beyond other types of photography. In this shot, we can see everything on your desk, which pulls focus away from the candle and the glass. You might want to use a sheet to hide everything. Also, the glass appears to be either scratched or dirty. For a brown challenge, there isn't much brown. You might try putting something brown in the background to make the amaretto darker.

There are some distracign reflections in the glass that need fixing, and the candle is a little blurry...but good try. Keep shooting!

The reflections are too busy. I don't know if this was intentional or not.

Oh my...I really don't like the reflections in the glass. I see all kinds of things laying around.
