Hate it when I forget what window I am looking at. Great image. Really thought this was gonna ribbon. Wonder what would have happened had I given you a ten rather than the 9. Well done.

Fantastic shot - great perspective. I had this pegged for top 3. Still a great finish though - Congratulations. So is that you or did you get some poor sap to freeze his butt off for you?! : ) Adding to favorites - love this.

Back to comment. One of my top picks for the challenge. Great colors and just a really nice layout overall. Bumping up 1.

slightly overexposed sky, nice otherwise

I like this shot. There is a sense of lonliness and loss about it. There is a little motion blurring around the person. I am guessing this was probably about a 1/2 second exposure or a little longer.

Wow, I really like the overall feeling of this scene. The overly processed colors (which I normally don't like) actually work well here. Wish the boy were sharper (looks like you oversharpened a touch trying to get him so) but it's only a minor distraction from the total work. Nice shot for the theme!

I like this, the contrasting colors work well here with the cold blue bridge? and the warm red water and sky, looks good. 7

Hoarfrost? and the sea's texture adds interest, as do the surreal colors in keeping with the theme. I like the anonymity of your subject too.

Great contrast between the warmth of the sky and the cold frosty dock. Top choice. well done.

Love the processing. Really emphasizes the lonely aspect as it seems "cold" where the person is, and they are looking outwards at a far off "warmness" of the someone they are missing.

To me the sky is a little bit overexposed, but I understand why in order to catch a few details on the man. This might have been fixable with tone mapping, but I don't know how to do it, so I'm not sure.

Weird color choice, but fits. Is that blue grass? Looks like shag carpeting.
12/20/2006 11:38:50 PM
Nice composition but over sharpened i guess. Somehow a softer feel to it may have rendered it more effective.

lovely lonely image. The colors are marvelous - the cold blue of the snow and the hot orange of the reflections in the water. The edgy composition works well - the subject feels isolated at the far edge of the frame, but is emphasized by all the lines that point to him - the dock, the horizon and the line of clouds. 8
