Well landscapes are usually composed in landscape orientation for a reason, they are so much harder to do in portrait orientation and I feel this is a perfect example as the foreground and backround arenĀ“t all that interesting, I would much rather have wanted to see the right and left side of this photo. Hardly a disaster though but I voted a 5 wich means average for me.

A little flat and gloomy, but it's not a bad shot.

Nice lighting. Very moody. Is that a dog in the middle? Looks like a pug.

They look just like summer dunes to me. Except, what is that stuff growing on them? And is that...water? What is water doing pooling by dunes? Unheard of...where is this strange land! I must get my ATV there sometime...unless it's one of those environmentally off-limit places. Anyway, it basically looks snap-shotish and no use of the expert editing rules that I can see...disappointment...imho. I'm not voting and despite what you may have thought from my above comments, I'd give your photo an 8.

could have done so much more with this picture, this is expert editing afterall. The picture itself doesn't really seem harsh exactly.
