Parts of 8 images from my recent trip to Las Vegas.
The landscape here is all from Red Rocks, just outside of Vegas. The large moon & smaller blue planet - a huge christmas ball ornament inverted and resized. The stars are just that - stars I shot during my drive out there, and the meteor is from the Treasure Island (TI) fireworks display.

To all those that made this a favorite and left supportive and positive comments, Thank You!

Nice work, Brad. I think this expert editing lark is a lot of fun and a good way to learn some tricks of the trade.

Those 1s are probably from the displaced Martians who you neglected and didn't include in the shot. :P Btw, great results!

this is a fun pic, B! congrats on top 10. it's sad that it got so many low scores and comments about it not being photography. if Expert Editing was the only type of challenge here i could understand their comments. but, it's just a small part, meant to be fun. it's too bad that they feel the need to punish people who participate in the challenges because everyone doesn't agree with their definition of photographic art.

Outstanding! My kind of image!! Hope you'll share your secrets! Love the fine detail and tones. The moon and the asteroid really make it special and move your eye around the image. Making it a fav.

Well this is good, nice job with the processing. Two things though that bother me. First is the lighting on the foreground, it comes from a wrong direction on the red rocks that are in the front part of the photo and I would suggest darkening them. The other is the very slight movement of the stars, I either want them stationary or with very definitive startrails and this is somewhere in between but that´s just my personal preference. I like this outcome though and gave it a 7.

Very nice editing, this is the king of stuff I expect in an 'expert editing' challenge. no one can tell you it is not 'photographic appearing' (10)

Although I would never try this type of Photo-art, I enjoy looking at it. Now for the critique. The only thing I notice that could be improved is the light source actual, differs from the light source suggested. Possibility some creative dodge and burn could have redirected the suggested light.8

Somebody has GOT to be from Utah or at least visited it recently...hmm? Anyway, your 'photos' rock...literally! I think of all the photos in the challenge (though yours does have some flaws [like mine does too - it's very similar in ways]), your photo is the total essence of the challenge and the best presented imho. I don't (or rarely) vote in challenges I enter but if I did, you'd get a fat honkin' 10 from me. I think a little blur along the hard edges would have blended the layers together a little more realistically...that is all. Love it...nice work!

This image is a bit too busy for my taste. This seems to be more about the editing than the subject. However, the editing is well done.

Excellent creation. Overall I am glad these types of images dont heavily populate these challenges but it is nice to see one that is done so well. A creative idea executed well with excellent editing. Bumpin gup.

Wow, it certainly has the impact.
It's not to my tastes but Im sure it will do very well.
How much of it is photography and how much digital art though? (That old arguement).

Awesome... the first shot in this challenge that caught my eye as somebody actually taking advantage of the "almost no limits" rule. Hope it does well, hopefully there's a list of how you got here. Very cool
