I can't believe I missed this the first time around. (Probably because the challenge had so many entries.) Superb in every aspect. For some reason it reminds me of a geometric King Kong's fist...

Hi, someone pointed this photo out in a recent forum thread -- I'm glad I got a chance to see it. It definitely says "New York" to me. An iconic photo.

I love the strong city shapes from the buildings and shadows with the lone soul escaping for abit of sunshine, 9

Nice rule of thirds lesson for us all! Also good leading lines. Well seen (in a sort of voyeuristic way) and an interesting image.

Well seen!
The diagonals work well and doesn't take away from the focal point.

Lovely! The house is suspended in a very surreal way. Lots of tasty textures. Some aliasing artifacts, need to be careful when sharpening. 10

a girl, a building full
of silent windows,
a gaze, a bricky gauze,
a sunbather under
sky but meanwhile on its shore.

This is in most respects absolutely outstanding. My only problem is that the negative space seems awkwardly composed to me. Perhaps if the camera were rotated a bit more, so the leading edge of the building were a bit more pronounced of a diagonal? In any event, very well seen, unusual as hell, and one of my top picks.

Unique shot. I'm taken with how well the sunbather shows up in the photo. Vivid color, and good detail. 10

Fun - a tiny splash of color and life on the thirds line with an almost abstract composition of buildings and shadow all around. I really enjoy this! 9

Yup - my kind of photography. The hard forms and light coupled with the unlikey subject make this a compelling image. I may have tried straightening the vertical distortion, to pick a nit.

Okay, I laughed out loud. This is a winner, obviosly a 10. The justoposition of the tiny semi naked human in her bright red bikini against all those bricks of varying shades of brown... Her tiny wieght against their ponderous weigh..her frivolous vanity getting a bit of tan in he black bra against the seriousness of the brick. What could be better. Sometimes a picture makes me want to quite photography, I think "well, that one says everything, what is there left to say".

Not exactly a penthouse but I suppose that will do. :P The isometric view makes this visually interesting. Good luck.
