This '33-'34 Ford V8 truck has been being procrastinated about for waaaaaaay too many years.

My beginning venture into the world of RAW and I like it.Converted to .jpg, sharpened, cropped a little, desaturated a little, lightened a little......I liked the way it came out pretty much.

Post-Challenge: OMIGAWD!!!!!!

Personal best, first Top 50.....I'm not going to go down the list of how many goals I just went screaming by!

Thanks to cutlassdude70 for teaching me how to be a much better photographer than I was when I got here. ALL of my improvement is his fault.

GO TEAM SUCK!!!

1/16: I am just overwhelmed at the lovely comments and good wishes!

Thank you all so much!

This is a very nice photo and I see what you did in attaching it to the challenge theme with the title. Know what would have made it even more awesome? An old tool box open (or slightly open) and tools hanging out - like the project was abandoned, or under serious procrastination. :-)

Wow that looks like a potential Barrett-Jackson's truck. Congratulations on second or red ribbon.. This turned out really good with the colors, I like the way the truck stands out from everything else.

great shot, you can nearly smell the truck and the rusting is almost there to touch, well done on the Ribbon. as before the only thing lacking from yourself is the "Suck" factor. ;-)

Wow! Congratulations on your well-deserved ribbon! I gave this a ten -- glad to see it was yours.

Dude, nice shot, two thumbs up. Only one problem, you seam to be severely lacking in “suck”, and you need to work on that, just joking, congrats on your first ribbon.

This was one of my favorites in the challenge, just for the grubby lusciousness of it. Kinda matches my boat, doesn't it? When you've fixed it up and I've patched the boat, we'll use it for a tow vehicle :-) Congrats on ribbon!

Very nice shot Jeb. I remember commenting on this shot. Hey, If I knew that all I had to do was write a poem and a sucker would ribbon, I'd have done it a long time ago. Good job.

Nice job! 2nd place, excellent :) When I saw this shot I thought for sure it was tone mapped or HDR, but no, it's just a straight shot from RAW, that makes it even better in my book. The quality is superb.

Great pic of a 30's Ford. My grandfather had a 32 that he called "Leapin' Lena" that he bought new. I still remember when he gave it to my brother. We found out right away that it would do 85 mph by the speedometer.
Good job with the image. The moss growing on it is good for color in the image, and for the metal. The metal will not rust much where the moss is on it.
Congrats on the ribbon, and thank you for jogging my memory.

This is a great photo well processed, but seems to me the photo itself should have some intrinic meaning that relates to the topic. In yours, and many others, people have simply tried to pull an unrelated shot in by use of a title?

Heh! Title makes the shot (for the challenge) - composition, color and editing make it a nice shot on it's own.

This is a relly nice shot. I love the colors in the truck and the ground. The only thing that looks out of place is the tires and rims. They look too new for the truck. Excellent job though. 7

01/10/2007 06:52:15 AM
Very straightforward image - the obvious standing-up point of view, framing simply to include the edges of the truck, colour just accurate. This then, depends for its impact only on the subject, rather than the photographers relation to it, and that won't be enough to engage people's attention.

LOL! If you find someone to get that one running I let me know! :)

Wonderful coppery and green colors, and nice positioning within frame. Background is good, too...everything adds well to the overall quality with no extra clutter. Frame works. Like this one a lot. 10

Breathtaking. I was going to attempt a very similar shot of an old truck like this in some overgrown weeds, but I don't think it would have come out nearly this striking. I will be sorely disappointed if this one doesn't ribbon. 10 from me.
