Great shot Hanae. Cool subject and nice framing. Good score. My eyes would love to see a stronger gradient in the background (light around his face just the way you have it, then gradually much darker as the eye moves away from the man toward the edges of the photo). Excellent model and a very nice job!

Why's the sword in this picture? I assume there's a connection but I'm not making it. Without the sword I'd give this higher points. Good Luck.

This is a sharp, engaging image. I like the way you've composed this. The slight angle of the head. Looking a little over his shoulder. Not sure about the sword (? actually looks more like a fencing blade perhaps ?) as it's taking me away from the person, but without it this photo would have an entirely different feel. Hmmm. Anyway, well done overall. Good luck in the challenge.

Yeah, awesome. Great tonal range. Your subject's expression is good. I think the background could have been different, but so what.

The sword distracts my eye and mind...

Great capture of the face but "do not cut your subject in their joints" and this was cropped right on the wrist. Not a big deal though. 7

Great picture. I like the lighting. I wish I could see more of what's in his hands. A sword I'm guessing? -7
