Sometimes I can't resist. ;-)

I couldn't find small enough wings for good detail, so I made a bigger match out of a chopstick and play-doh. Problem solved. The wings are from a cheap craft store bird, and the halo is a pipe cleaner. The background is a piece of purple paper with mottled light filtered through a crystal vase. Originally, I was going to prop up the match and halo from behind with thin wire, but I put them on glass instead. I hate the dust & reflections, but that's what I get for waiting until two hours before the deadline to start!

The soft focus is a result of a Dust & Scratches filter attempt to minimize the dust specks. I also color shifted the red channel and desaturated a bit overall because the Play Doh was too bright.

Good idea, botched execution. :-/

He, he, I sort of thought this was yours. A classic "scalvert". Even when you're in a hurry, you do amazing stuff.

Congrats on 6th place!

You need to clean that glass so that those specs don't show.

It is such a shame about the dust (?) spots on the glass, it spoils the otherwise awesome effect. I still love it, though, and admire the imagination. Super idea!!!

Good creative take on the challenge. The littl ewhite specks all over are a bit distracting but a fun shot none the less. 7

ROFL. You went to alot of trouble. That is a hoot. Too bad you couldn't remove the little specks in the background, but basic isn't very happy with that. ;~D

Funny! I was thinking about the same topic/title. Nicely done, although the light looks a lot stronger on the left side.
