Holy cow! Errrr ... Holy goat! Fantastic shot, love the eye and the composition. I'm sorry for your not meeting your predictions. That's what you get for creating a great image that's in focus. ;)

You can do my portrait anytime - if you can make a goat look that good - I can imagine what you could do for an elderly lady wrinkles and all.

I love everything about this - the high contrast between the goat and background, the detail in the fur(?), and of course the eye.

Darren,
Congrats on that killer score! My new goal is to hit 6.5, and you beat me to the punch. Good on ya mate, as I believe your countryman say? Please forgive me if I erroneously borrowed that expression. The sentiment remains the same: super score on an intriguing photo. One of the few instances of someone pulling off selective desat without a lot of backlash. And BTW - look at that average from the commenters! You've got a fan club! :-)

Great job here. The b&w conversion with the selective colour works well with the texture and level of sharpness that you have captured.

Sheep and goats do have unusual eyes. Selective desat does emphasize it and the fur is nicely detailed.

Wow! Nice detail in the fur without being over sharpened or too blurred. Nice idea to do a profile.

This is GORGEOUS! What a noble pose! The detail is just beautiful. Great idea to use black and white too. It makes it even more striking.
