The figure makes a nice focal point for the landscape.

Very nice shot, great pick of a subject. Would have liked to see the person up a bit more IMO. But great shot non the less.

I have searched through the challenge for those entries where the negative space is more than just a plain black or white backdrop because, whilst I think that technique often makes for some really strong and high impact images, I’m particularly drawn to entries where the negative space is relevant to the subject itself and actually contributes to the impact of the picture in a contextual as well as purely compositional way.

Lovely choice of time to photograph in terms of light direction creating silhouette and nice light and shadow on the water and waves. Compositionally, I think this could be stronger without the distracting detail at the top i.e. taking the image several seconds earlier and cropping out the trees, wall and background shoreline so that he’s still in the top left corner of the frame.

This is really good...the lighting is excellent...did you do all of this in your camera? Wow...I'm going to have to explore my camera features better!

The boat in the background and the brightness of the sunlight on the water distracts from the simplicity of this image.

This photo had so much going for it as for lighting and subject, but unfortunately, you did not look at the full frame when shooting, if you had lowered the camera to take out the top horizon, and had your subject 2" closer this would have scored very high, IMHO.....

Good capture, but I think it would be better without that band of city at the top.
