Also, thanks to Toocool, he's got a bunch of awesome photos from in and around the capitol that are very inspiring. He's always let me drag along with him, shooting everywhere, never hesitating to answer my endless questions, share his knowledge and teach me not only how to use a camera, but how to actually make photos with it!

I must admit, I've been in a real rut lately. Hardly even touched my camera in quite awhile. Sheila got me a new monopod for Christmas, hadn't even used it yet. So I had the day off, and forced myself to go out shooting, even though I didn't really feel like it. TC and I have gone shooting around the downtown area a lot, so that's where I decided to go. It was cold, so I went inside the capitol. I wasn't shooting for a challenge, I wasn't shooting anything anyone had asked me to, I didn't even care if I ended up with anything at all. I was just shooting for the sake of shooting, and just for me. I ended up wandering around for a few hours, and really got lost in it all, it was awesome. I later thought that this would work for 'Fill the Frame', and even though I didn't consider it 'Expert' editing at all, said what the heck, and put it in :-) I was hoping maybe I'd get another 6.xx on my profile.

So anyways, yeah, it's the inside of the capitol dome in Lansing. In ps- reduce noise, auto color, levels, curves, hue/sat adj, selected the inner circle and did a levels adj and sharpen, then a color dodge layer, a color burn layer, and a vivid light layer all with the opacities dropped way down, then resize, smart sharpen, border and sfw.

This is one stunning shot dude. I don't know why I've just seen this one but I'm glad I ran across it. The colors are so inviting I could stare at this for hours. So many things to see while looking over this wonderful image. Excellent job taterbug!

Mindbogglinglygood!

I wish I could do half as well, but not a chance - I just dont seem to have the ability to do the things I would like, but it is probably the knowledge I lack, plus maybe the software.

This is really, really good - It looks like all that goldwork and handtooling on one of the most expensive handmade leather books you used to be able to find out there.

If you ever make a video about retouching, put me down for one.

I have a Canon 350d, but never expect to be able to do as well

Love the vibrance, color and detail of the shot. Only nitpick is, it seems to be a little oversharpened in some ares producing jagged edges. Selective sharpening would be something to try here. Still it's a favorite. Good luck :)
