Last day find. I came home with just a little while till deadline and ended up babysitting Abby & Carson on the spur of the moment (not that I minded :) So I only had a few minutes to edit this and submit it. Maybe it's better -- I didn't have so much time to agonize and 2nd-guess myself to death. I hope it doesn't get buried in mediocrity.

I've tried to capture insects in flight before, and know how difficult it is- I gave this a very high score. You not only managed to capture the bee in sharp detail, but include beautiful bokeh and compose it well. Very well done indeed!

Sandy, I love your "buried in mediocrity" understatement ;-) This image is so beautiful and a well deserved top 20.

"Buried in mediocrity." LOL. Congrats on the high score and high placement! Having both the plant and the bee sharp really focuses my attention.

You really need to quit putting the "I hope this doesn't bomb" stuff in your comments. I think you're incapable of actually bombing in a challenge! :-) Lovely shot with amazing DOF - and another top 15 for the record books, too!

I love the color tones here and the perspective on the bee. Fabulous DOF. One of my favorites in the challenge. Well done! Back to bump you up to 9.

I voted 5 at first look and then found the bee.....I'm now bumping it up to 7, but I think it would have been a 9 or 10 if the bee was closer to the focused flower. There is just too much space between subjects. Great shot though and great timing.
