Okay, so I lied. He wasn't really lost...I actually had to crop out his dad who was standing 2 feet away.

Hopefully people won't score me down for the grain. It's my first time doing something like this, but I feel that I really need to since all of the major street photography shots I've seen are very grainy and in b/w.

It was really hard to pick which photo to submit. I had at least 3 really good choices, but chose this because it seems different...meaning not a homeless person :)
Although I have to admit, 2 other good shpts I took were of homeless people. Oh well, I like this and I hope it fairs okay...even if it is super-grainy-artsy-fartsy.

:::After Challenge:::
AWWWWWWWWW!! Another 21st place!...so close...

It's okay though, I'm really happy with the way this scored and turned out. Thanks for all of the comments :)

I apparently liked this one when voting too, I gave it a well deserved ten. I love the tones of the stairs and the little guy just makes this one special!

Terrific composition. I like what you did with the crop here. I like how you can just see the one eye, gives the photo a nice emotion. Good gritty scene, with the repeating patterns. The angle you chose also works well as they give the stairs a nice line that moves the eye throughout the frame. Terrific capture!

Grain works good with this one, good choice.

I love shooting children this age. It's like shooting wildlife -- you just wait, and they will do something charming or awful. I like the composition of this shot, and I don't mind the grain at all -- it seems appropriate for this image, which looks vintage. Congratulation on a score to be envied by all Team Suck members.

great composition, a thirties sense of melodrama to this shot. I gave it a 7. In a less brilliant challenge, it would have gotten a higher score and a comment.

Darn near a top twenty but better still, a great score on a great image! Nothing wrong with this at all. I do like the grain - works very well for this. And I like the very tight crop next to the young child with that vast expanse of stairs next to and behind him - it creates a great tension in the photograph. Well done!

There are a bunch of pictures in this competition that are titled "Lost, but this is the only one that caught my eye. Wonderful tonality, framing, and subject. A very nice capture of a moment.

Possibly a bit over-dodged for classic street photography (IMO), but beautiful composition, grain, instant of capture and composition. 9.5=10.
