I saw this women walking towards me while I was trying to find something to photograph in the small (and relatively uninteresting) village I work in. She just passed me by looking inquisitively towards me, so I snapped off a couple of shots of her.
Street photography is definitely interesting but has NOT been my thing up to now. I tend to want to get as close as possible to my subjects (my macro passion ;-) so there is probably too much person and not enough street in this.
Oh well, we'll see.....

Hello Irene!
This is very good - lots of interest and contrasting elements and she has a fascinating face.

Thanks, Chris. Believe me, I was terrified.

Nice shot! I agree with noraneko in regards to the person in the background.

The out of focus person walking the other direction in the background provides a great counterpoint to the subject. Well done.

I'd prefer this cropped just to the right of the door frame in the background. The bright spot just behind the person walking seem to keep grabbing my eye. I love this otherwise.

technically, very well done. as for street photography, it's a little too close in (at least IMO). Maybe if her expression was different (angry at your presence for an example) it would've worked.

Some may not consider this "street" photography, but it's a nicely done, well composed street portrait.

Lovely picture, but i wish there wasent a kid (or person) in the background. Maybe its just me. But its still great.

The interesting background is great, and combined with the perfect DOF it doesn't take away at all from the subject. Very dynamic composition. Well done!

Nice and sharp, and well exposed and processed. Still it seems to have a bit of a portrait feel IMO. I also find the sign in the top left corner to be a little distracting.

Not very candid.

What makes this work is the out of focus street and pedestrian walking behind. Wonderful portrait!
