Thanks for all the comments, guys. When I get a chance to figure out the portfolio interface, I'll upload some more crap. And I'm trying to get a photo ready for the night photography contest that ends tonight, so maybe you can see more then.

Refreshingly gritty.
04/08/2007 12:08:25 PM
I was hoping for more of a comment as to the thinking, the creative, behind the psychological landscape here. Ah well, guess I'll have to keep my own interpretation and appreciate your great creative.

It's very nice work -

this is my kind of picture. The whole scene is just great. IMO the lighting may be a bit dull. The picture looks a little flat. I think that the girl could have been highlighted more than she is.Good jog though.9 I just bumped this up to 10

Very cool study ... this image makes you think, and makes you want to see beyond the edges of the frame. One of my top two for the challenge. 10

If you were going for the older era look, the toaster oven and newer frypan and griddle on stove took away - but other than that you nailed it.
04/07/2007 10:33:01 AM
Love this. One of more original entries I've seen for awhile. 10.

I am a home inspector, so when I look at this image I see some interesting things past the photography! I like the photo it has a lot going on and you can just keep looking and finding new things. 7

Wow, this is truely awesome! My only complaint is that the subject almost feels like she's being shoved off to the corner of the shot... Maybe if she were positioned a little closer to the center, and facing a different dirrection... but I'm just being picky. This is one amazing portrait! Good luck on the challenge!

I absolutely love this photo. Absolutely! This is just perfect.
04/04/2007 03:57:18 PM
I really like this type of processing. I like the colors also. The girl looks so out of place here but yet she fits right in. Makes me want to sit here and figure out the whole story of why she's where she is. 10

This one is more interesting than most in this challenge. Well done. Like the shabbiness and moody scene.
04/04/2007 01:36:25 PM
absolutely love this shot. Great mood and use of colors to bring out the eeeerie feeling of this kitchen.
04/03/2007 08:46:59 PM
What a very monochromatic kitchen! Limey, even. Nice offsetting colors on the model. Definitely feel like there is a story here.
04/03/2007 07:48:13 PM
i find it exceptionally creepy that there is another photo very similar to this in this free study... what are the odds?
04/03/2007 07:04:41 AM
Right then, joke's on me as I now have to plough through 564 images and bump them all (yes, all of them) up. There'll be a third run through for fine tuning. It's day two three now and I'm running late, sorry.

Did Arthur Miller take photographs? 8

Not sure what Maggie is doing in the kitchen, but love the color you achieved and overall effect. Wonderfully done.
04/01/2007 04:20:58 PM
amazing color and texture! it adds to the tense atmosphere.

I love the processing here.

Kitsch in the good sense. You chose her dress/colors perfectly. Surreal and real at the same time. Reminds me of some of the work coming out of the 1950s - modern but slightly twisted. I love her pose - perfect and the way she is not looking at the camera. Gives a huge amount of tension to the image - she doesn't want to be there, doesn't want to be photographed. POV is excellent as is light and shadow. My favorite in the challenge so far. 10
04/01/2007 03:52:40 AM
really cool, that's how i'd like my kitchen, when i have my own apartment!
nice photo, really love it
04/01/2007 02:42:16 AM
I love this. Where on earth did you find such an old kitchen.
