Great idea. Makes you think what we would use these things for should the world drastically change.

That's just plain funny! Very creative, good framing and lighting. My only complaint would be that the stick is cut too cleanly on the ends; doesn't quite match the "day after" idea that would create this situation.

Great concept, creative and thought provoking. I think you might be able to improve it even more by shooting from a "more interesting" perspective than straight on from the side.

Okay, wow. This is the 99th image I've seen and I have to say it is very refreshing. So many shots without people anywhere near. And I do love out of the box interpretations, but there are things that just don't meet the challenge at all. "Person using their cell phone" is really only going to be portrayed if a person is somehow visually represented in the shot. But this is a lovely way to go out of the box while still meeting the challenge. "Using" doesn't have to mean talking, and you did a great job, with the construction of the "axe" and the raised-fist composition, in telling us what the cell phone is used for. And to top it off, you didn't spoil it with an overbearing title.

To sum up: congratulations on an image that is a delightful departure from the vast majority of the other entries. Although I hope that I am wrong, I can almost promise you that this entry will not get the score that it deserves. And if I am right, then I hope that you can be content with knowing that you were intelligently creative.

Not sure whether everyone will think that it meets the challenge and you may suffer for that, but for me it does, its a brilliant concept and its outstandingly executed
