Frozen chain taken with the camera I use to do home inspections, wished I would have had my good camera with me!

Thanks everyone, 4th is much higher than expected so I was really surprised. The image is actually a chain across the front of a horse stall that had iced over, I do wish I would have had my SLR and some time to take some more pictures of the chain the ice on it had formed crystals that would have really popped with better lighting and a closer shot.

This was my favorite for the challenge. I thought it was underwater!

Wow, thanks for the comments, this one scored much higher than anticipated and placing forth is great. I took this with a Canon sure shot that I use when I do home inspection and really entered it just thinking it would get a 5.5 at best. It is going to be hard to convince my wife I need a new lense for my slr now! lol

The deep is as in freeze, it was fun to see others thought it looked underwater because as I processed it it kinda looked that way so that is how it got the title. Thanks again.

Hehe! I totally thought this was an undersea shot. It is awesome that it is ice!

this is very cool with the contrasts. I'm not 100% understanding how you were using the background whites to balance the composition. this does look very underwater anchor-like, but it's really snow and ice, no ?

More shallow DOF would benefit this photograph.

I didn't know that it snowed underwater.

Interesting image! I wasn't sure at first if it was "the deep" as in deep ocean, which is common usage, or if it referred to "deep freeze". Deep freeze I'd say after seeing the white on the ground.

Great picture of the chain! But the ground is distracting...

awesome photo. pity there was not something else in the photo to suggest nautical, as I had never seen white coral encrusted chain before, so I was confused till I saw your title.
