Two friends really enjoying the snow. They have just fallen backwards into it, and loving every minute of it!

I liked this with the snow softened trees which were somewhat behind them (above in this frame), but for the "simplicity" challenge, this has been reduced to the fundamentals!

What a fun shot! It mirrors my exact attitude when playing in the snow. Standing up, falling down, it's all good. Reminds me of about 18 months ago, when my best friend and I ended up wrestling in 2 feet of snow. FUN!

Greetings from the Critique Club!

Hi! This is a great overall shot and it looks very candid, not set up at all but for this type of shot that's very important.

Essentially you have met the challenge in offering a simple pastime as your interpitation and that works very well for me. The absolute joy on their faces is priceless and to be treasured always.

The problems with taking shots like these are trying to make sure everything is just right and this one is very close. The brightness of the snow is a bit blinding, just like in real life and just like in real life you almost need sunglasses to look at it for any length of time. The overall compostion of the shot is very well done. YOu mention cropping out the trees in the background and the crop you made works very well. The line of one foot in the lower right corner taking you through the first person into the second and their head in the upper left is very well done. Not sure that was intentional but it works very nicely.

How to improve it? Well, not much in a shot like this unless you want to play in Photoshop and try to tone the snow down just a bit but then that takes away from the overall feel of the shot. It's a wonderful shot and you did very well with it.

Good Luck In Future Challenges!

This is a gem of a shot! I love it so much. You've captured so well the shear joy of childhood in a winter scene. It appears spontaneous and natural with no pretense and I like how all distractions have been eliminated. It's so universal a scene as well...who doesn't remember scenes like this when they were growing up. It's a great portrait, as well as, a great photographic accomplishment. Congratulations on a job well done.

True! :-) I hope I will have time for such simple pleasures from the end of this week, when I have no homeworks left. I like the atmosphere of this photo very much, excellent capture of emotion! :-)

What a fun image! Very nice capture of the spontaneity. Exposure is good, a bit blown out at upper right but does not detract IMO. Might make it difficult to get a great print, however.
The title runs on.(and on) and detracts somewhat from... the simplicity.

Twins? They look like they are having so much fun. Kinda long title though, IMO, not that it matters. Great playful shot!

No need for essays in the title...
I see the point clearly, and agree, without it...

I thought the image should suggest simplicity on the surface, rather then the activity going on... but thats my interpretation of the challenge. U interpreted it ur way, so theres nothing wrong with it. perhaps up that contrast alittle? to enhance the whiteness of the snow?

Nice shot. Clear, crisp, in focus and well framed. Maybe just a bit too bright (not much). Good picture.

Technical: Most all images submitted fit the challenge. This one is very strong! Exposure composition focus lighting all great.

Personal: Sometimes "snapshots" look like just that, and other times they are precious captures of wonderful moments in time. This is precious. Thank you for sharing.
