 The light was fading fast so I pretty much ran from the car to the beach to set up. Of course I'd got about halfway there when it started to rain, so I had to sprint back, grab an umbrella and then treck over a bunch of newly slippery rocks to get to this spot.

In the course of this little process I came very close to discovering the hard way that it's not all that easy to take a photo while standing on wet rocks, holding an umbrella and trying to ensure that the rapidly rising tide doesn't knock your rickety tripod over. As for the photo itself, the light was really pretty, but there was a pretty significant difference between the foreground and sky, so it was difficult to get the exposure right. Hence this is a composite of two (would have liked the sky to be a bit less blown out in parts, but I wasn't taking pictures with dpchallenge expert editing in mind).

4th! That's considerably better than I expected when I submitted, so I'm particularly happy.

Nice balance and tone - good foreground and sky interest too. Horizon is a bit skewed but I like it.

So very calm and peaceful. I love the rich warm tones that carry over from the sky into the water and then the rocks. Very beautiful and calming.
