Excellent job taking this photo without getting any tourists in the frame. I remember when I went to Kinkaku-ji there were THRONGS of people all jumping over each other to get photos, but I guess they mostly cluster on the shoreline left of your photo. This is an angle you don't see very often, but I think you've captured it quite well. By the way, did you have time to visit Ginkaku-ji?

I spent 3 months working in Japan a few years back. All I can say is that the country and people are incredible. Culture shock? Not at all! At least, I had culture shock coming back to the states.

Your photo greatly depicts the beauty I saw in Japan. Congratulations on the ribbon!

kinkakuji is my favourite place in japan. And this photo is beautiful.
