Purebred Arabian Geldings. Entered a shot like this in the rule of thirds and had some comments that it would make a great symmetry entry. Will Mac and Duque were grooming each other again last night so I took some more shots of them. Hope people don't get tried of seeing them. I don't :-). Cropped adjusted level, curves resized sharpen and applied Noise Ninja.

WOW This is my first top 20 :-) Thanks to all for your votes and comments. Also want to thank the people that gave me the idea for this image from my entry in the Rule of Thirds Challenge. :-) My horses were kind enough to pose again for me. :-)

I am going with some of the other comments, this is an amazing image, I think it should have scored a lot higher if not on the home page.

Back to my initial thoughts,

What an amazing image. Keep up the awesome work.

Absolutely beautiful horses! This might be neat to see in black and white... and perhaps a touch more contrast? Lovely shot though, it fit the challenge perfectly!

What a great idea for symmetry. These animals are absolutely gorgeous. There is very little I could suggest to improve on this shot. The focus and exposure is great and gives good details on the horses. The shallow dof helps to isolate them from the background, which could be distracting, but because it is blurred, I think it helps to add to the composition by giving it context.

It does seem just a hair dark/flat to me, but I'm thinking it may be my monitor. If not, maybe just a boost of contrast or shadows/highlights, something like that, to give it just a bit more pop.

Great shot, best to you in future challenges.

Great capture, and nice colors. A little less DOF would help dimish the distracting background.

Great capture! I don't know if you just happened to be at the right place at the right time or if this is taged. Either way, it does a great job with the theme. IMO the light is a little dull but hey! can't control Mother Nature, now can we?

I see that you took my advice and went for the symmetry category on this one. I looked up your last shot and I can tell that this one is different. Its great for the category but I think the tones and exposure on your last image was a bit better than this one. 8 for content.

Interesting capture and a unique take on the challenge especially with the similarily colored horses. The image is well framed and the heads of the horses are composed nicely using the rule of thirds. A narrower depth of field here would help blur the background a bit more and make it less distracting.

The exposure is generally good but the sky is a bit bright. Not a lot that could be done about it however if a circular polarize was available it might have helped a bit.

Good sharpness in the subjects and nice detail in the face and neck especially.

If I were to shoot this again I would perhaps try a portrait orientation as well and compare.
