Challenge: Pi II (Basic Editing)
Collection: Portfolio
Camera: Canon EOS-30D
Lens: Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM
Location: Art Building
Date: May 1, 2007
Date Uploaded: May 1, 2007

This is an image I photoshopped together of Pi with a gradient in the background sent through TEXT-IMAGE.com with Pi to 10,000 decimals as the sequence (it actually loops at least once). The image is sent from a projector onto a white screen and onto myself.

Wow! Surprised to see this homepage especially since is the first time I've had two ribbons in a row (and neither of them in Cannon Beach!). Just realized that this is my 10th ribbon, crazy.

Original:

RawShooter Essentials: color temp = 10250, Tint = 64, Exposure compensation = .98, Fill Light = 52, Shadow contrast = 39, Highlight contrast = 9, the rest = 0.
Photoshop: Slight rotation, Crop, Levels, hue and saturation, size, USM.

This should have been used for the Pi movie poster rather than what they actually used.

Bravo Thomas! Glad to see you score on a graphical rendition. These are the hardest treatments to win with and you made it so super interesting the voters couldn't resist. Indeed a superb work and warmest congratulations on your Yellow!

"Though I have no idea why the model is topless" I laughed out loud. Congrats on your back to back ribbons!

When you can't do layers in Photoshop, do it the hard way eh? :)))) No critique, just joking. Interesting how you did this, good idea. Congrats!

Congratulation on your ribbon. The image is really cool. And thank you for sharing the Text-Image link. That little tool may come in handy someday, and I have tucked it away in my bookmarks.

You are clearly a closet porn star. I'm amazed you can count that high too - see what college does. Congrats on a very cool shot.

Yippiee! And he can quote PI out to 36 digits or more as well folks! Of course, on only needs to count this one out to the third place finish. Great concept and execution Zoomy! Cannon Beach family Robinson is cheering! Hip Hip Hooray for yet another Spokane ribbon!

I am really curious to see how you accomplished this FANTASTIC shot! I love the texture of it and the lack of readability of the "digits" is perfect for this challenge!

This is a breath of fresh air after the other entries I have seen so far. Well done for the double representation AND great visual impact.

This would have worked better for me without the person... 9 for me! :)

A very compelling and dramatic image. It seems to be a study of the impact of the cold, hard numbers on the individual psyche (or maybe I'm just bs'ing myself ;) This is strong, though, and I like it. Nice work.

I like the effort you put into getting this, I'm not seeing many creative ideas in the challenge but here we have one.

What a horrible photo. I hate it and I hate this photographer's guts. I'm going to take his projector away and leave it on his bloody beach to rust. No no. He might get a good picture out of that. I'm going to throw his CAMERA on the beach or no, better yet, on the highway in front of an 18 wheeler. If THAT doesn't stop him...

Long story short, I am so not giving you the awesome score you deserve, Zoomdak.

Wow. I'd love to know how you did this (I think I have an idea). The starkness but detail of it really adds to the feeling of pi, imo. Nicely done, executed, and thought out.

Very nice, I like the harsh, high graphic look. Very appealing. Though I have no idea why the model is topless.

In small it looks like an old picture with a Greek scholar or something :)
In large it looks special too.
