This is the drain in our basement sink. Yes, we do have rust in our water, a lot of rust. It has stained this concrete sink quite badly. In coming up with an idea for this challenge, I was thinking about how we use water, and how so much of what we use simply goes down the drain.

The technical, post-processing details: Increased Saturation of red by 10 and yellow by 17. Created duplicate layer, ran Unsharp mask twice @ Amt-85, Rad-1, Thr-4, changed blend mode to Luminosity. Duplicated the sharpened layer, applied Gaussian blur radius 6.7, changed blend mode to color. Flattened image then re-sized for DPC

Greetings from the CC, here goes my suggestions, please take them as that and not more : ). I like the idea of your subject, and i really like the way the light is in the outer rings, I think the rust helps to add a real warmth in color (though it worries me you drink it : ( ). I do find the concrete wall to be a little distracting and such a stark contrast to the light and movemnt of the water. I would be curious to see the walls of the sink cropped out. I think the composition of the drain in the corner works very well. I also like that the water is running and adds an additional point of interest. I think your photo makes a good point about water more than wows so to speak, but I think there is certainly a place for this kind of photography! Keep up the work!

Highlights and reflections is the water is very good. The showing of the drain helps with the composition. I think that the color of the sink takes away from the overall shot.

Yuk What an ugly drain could do with some bleach or something
Looks like a health hazard to me The water effect is good though

Rusty old sink adds some great color. The ripples are a great catch. Nice and sharp. Great water shot. 7

Good focus. I like the "waves" of the water. It´s one of the most original picture of this week. Keep the good work.

I like this photo.....I like finding art in something that really isn't very pretty....the colors do catch the eye, and I like the water movement

I wondered if anyone would take this shot - I thought of it and rejected it. Good job though!
