This is a place that we fish regularly, so I knew I'd get the chance get a great image like this. I'd like to thank mother nature for cooperating. :-D (so much more of this is natural beauty than ability) And to break a few hearts, yes, it was staged. I had Aalden pump and reel (no fish) a few times while i took several shots. |

A big congratulations to you on your ribbon and on a beautiful photo. I've only been here a short time myself, but I love seeing "new blood" score so highly.
The silhouette is crisp and perfect, and the sunset is colorful without being lurid. Well done. |

An absolutely stunning image. Well composed, beautiful lighting.
My only nitpick is that when I first saw the image I said to myself "Wow that's impressive" and "that silhouette looks faker than a three dollar bill". The edges to my eye look impossibly sharp - almost as if a cardboard cutout was used in lieu of a human model. It just looks photoshopped to my eye which takes the image down several notches. |

| This is really gorgeous in composition and colors, and I love that the line is bowed and the angler leaning back. I can imagine the fish about to be reeled in. The leaves on the tree at the top look a little oversharpened on my monitor, but that's a just a niggle in the grand scheme of things. |

For a sport photograph, this is very artistic.
There is this guideline for sport photography, and basically you have gone against all the rules.
However, photographically speaking, this is a great image. And, sometimes, as I have found, being artistic, ignoring rules can be a good thing.
Comp is good, but I think there is a bit too much negative space above. Silhouette is excellent, light great, texture great, excellent movement, emotional value great, overall I predict top 10. |

Outstanding shot! I can see absolutely nothing wrong with this shot. Balance, focus, clarity, DOF, everything is great. If you don't ribbon with this one... well... I cut my hair!

| Love the color, love the perfect shilouette, the sky, the composition. I happen to like it slightly better with most of the leaves at the top cropped out, but I would not be the least bit surprised if this ribbons. |
