Challenge: The Four Elements II (Advanced Editing V)
Camera: Nikon D50
Lens: Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX DC HSM for Nikon
Location: Point Reyes National Seashore, McClure's Beach
Date: May 23, 2007
Aperture: 7.1
ISO: 200
Shutter: 1/30
Galleries: Landscape, Seascapes
Date Uploaded: May 25, 2007

I used my blue/yellow polarizer and a graduated ND filter with a tripod.
PP:NI'ed the sky, selective color, I believe I copied the background layer and set to multiply and faded the effect. Used the different channels in levels to get the color balance. Shadow/highlights adjustment and masked out effects in different parts. I ran the clone stamp set to darken around the edges of the rocks on the left to get rid of halos, hope it works well.

Post challenge: Woohoo a ribbon!!! Thanks everyone for the comments and votes, they are all very appreciated. This is great, very excited this did well. The Sigma 10-20, it rocks!! I can now give the update button a little break. :)

Taking photos of beach scenes and timing the wavelets rushing in is not as easy as it looks. But you have managed to take the photographer out of the photo (so-to-speak) so the viewer can simply enjoy this delightful scene. Very pleasant. 9.
