Saw this in the "How To" section and just wanted to comment on how beautifl it is. :) I really liked seeing the contrast between your final work and your "general postcard" shots.

Fantastic composition and wonderful tones. Weirdly cropped though here--why the white border on the right?

Fantastic overhead shot. I've been to the state capitol and seen this for myself, and I must say, you captured it beautifully! The lighting and clarity are awesome, and the detail you picked up on is incredible. Wonderful job! Definitely deserving of the Blue!

It helps to have a good subject! Also, I think I took about 100 pics that day, to get 3 or 4 that I was happy with. The big advantage of digital - you can learn quickly by making lots of mistakes :)

I read your profile, not bad for "not having a clue"!

I love this shot. The angle, the framing and the overall composition are near perfect. Great job! Good Luck!

inside-out wedding cake. Yum.
04/07/2002 08:15:00 AM
Great, warm light, and a wonderful subject. I'd have composed it differently, but then it would be my pic instead of yours. Nicely done.
04/06/2002 10:29:00 PM
wow. lovely shot. number of geometric twists here is interesting.
04/06/2002 09:25:00 PM
Good composition!
04/06/2002 06:56:00 PM
Wow, what detail!
04/06/2002 06:32:00 PM
What an awesome view of the state capitol (from another Texan). Have spent lots of time staring at this same view! I like the off-centered placement.
04/06/2002 07:40:00 AM

Phenomenal shot... another dizzying photograph... Excellent lighting...

I REALLY like this picture. Your off-center framing really makes it interesting.

this photo increases my heart rate; it's rad; amazing variety of tones in the white; excellent aim on the star; great angle, light, and framing; ooh, I want to go there and stand in that spot; majestic
04/02/2002 11:55:00 AM
great composition, but perhaps too monotone. i would like to see more contrast.
04/02/2002 07:06:00 AM
Great shot with a great angle. The uniform color is nice too.
04/01/2002 10:37:00 PM
Nice shot ...
04/01/2002 10:23:00 PM
I liked this because the luminous quality of the light combined with the off center spiral shape reminds me of a nautilus shell. The gold star in the middle and gold highlighting combined with the pale blue light coming in from the windows gives an impression of fine porcelain.
04/01/2002 09:36:00 PM
I love this photo! Nice focus
04/01/2002 09:28:00 PM
how do you manage the lighting??
04/01/2002 06:45:00 PM
Nice!
04/01/2002 06:38:00 PM
Nice Detail
04/01/2002 06:04:00 PM
Great lighting
04/01/2002 12:49:00 PM
I like the off center perspective. Was it completely planded? Or was the center occupied by a statue etc?
04/01/2002 11:59:00 AM
Nice shot.
04/01/2002 11:49:00 AM
Wow! How did you get everything to be in focus. Sweet.
04/01/2002 11:47:00 AM
would have made a great 'Curves' shot I think
04/01/2002 10:48:00 AM
Beautifully done. I love the angle and the focus.
04/01/2002 10:11:00 AM

How beautiful !!!! What amazing detail and work and you captured it sooooooo well !!!!!!
04/01/2002 01:52:00 AM
Very warm and pleasing. I smiled the second I saw it. Delicate. Beautiful. Can you go wrong with such a perfect subject?
04/01/2002 01:39:00 AM
Love the perspective!
04/01/2002 01:32:00 AM
I think I'm getting vertigo..
04/01/2002 01:31:00 AM
this is very nicely colored and weighted, but I don't like that chunk in the upper right corner. Very, very nice!
04/01/2002 01:22:00 AM
sweeet.
04/01/2002 01:00:00 AM
Absolutely gorgeous! It's very good of you not to shoot dead center; wouldn't have been as effective. I might have made that mistake had I shot this. Great reapeating elements & curves. The tinge of pastel blue works great against the cream. Makes me feel happy & serene. The white spot at the top left corner detracts from the whole composition
04/01/2002 12:42:00 AM
keeps catching my eye..
04/01/2002 12:26:00 AM
my first impression was that it was not framed correctly, but I think I know why you did it this way. Great photo, love the detail
