"the heart has no bones, you say, so it wont break. but the purpose of loving is the pounding it takes" - josh ritter

this was just a quick idea i had, last minute
similar to something i've done before
my garage gets this intense light in the morning throught the window
adjusted my settings to underexpose the area around the light to create the negative space, i wanted it to be really obvious
cut out and pasted the heart on the window
and posed :)
i thought about reshooting this so that you could see my face but i thought that the mystery added to my idea here. i want the viewer to decide how they think i'm feeling. what going through my head.
i had a few different options but my dpl league team helped me decide :) love ya girlies

I'd forgotten about that movie (Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken). I actually used to date a woman who had a bit part in that movie. She was the mean schoolteacher. I know this has nothing to do with your picture; but thanks for reminding me. I'd forgotten.

This is fantastic. You made terrific artistic choices here, including hiding your face. You're right on target about letting the viewer wonder. And I love the effect of you floating in space. Well done!

Beautiful. Love the heart shadow and the innocence of the child who is sitting on the floor.

At first it was difficult to tell what was in the top part of the shot. Maybe just a little more lighting from her top right would've brought her out just a little more.

This has so much potential...I would have loved her to be more in the light - the rest of the composition is so dark that she could have been all lit....I realise that the central bar of shadow must have caused a problem in terms of placing her, but she might have been brought more into the light. But a refreshingly artistic subject idea.

Terrific concept, executed with a deft touch. Well done. Would perhaps like some more light cast on her head but this is one of the best of the 70 odd I've voted on so far.

Fit Challenge Criteria: 1/2
Contrast/Color: 1/2
Composition: 1/2
Photo Quality: 1/2
My Subjective Affinity: 0/2

The idea is nice, and the negative space supports the subject well, but it lacks any real punch to make this shot stand out above the rest. The shadows are too dark. It would be much better to see a small bit of detail throughout the photo to tell more of the story.

This should be a great photo, but something isn't doing it for me. Not sure if it's the soft reflection with the sharp subject...

I wish her face and hands weren't so far in shadow. The focus and POV are excellent. Composition well done.
