Accidental image, while trying to learn how to shoot candids from the hip (and not figuring out that I should stop moving when I press the shutter).

This one just looked interesting to me, so instead of deleting it, I played with a number of color film filters with Alien Skin and settled on creamy Polaroid, with a few minor tweaks to the settings.

Can't think of a better title... but what I see here is an image that represents a child stepping forward into his life, backed up by the watchful ghosts of his family. And I wish I could think up a title that neatly represented that. :)

I didn't read all of the comments and I'm sure someone has commented that this is ghostly. It is a cool and interesting image. I'm glad you have it on your profile page.

TOO MUCH FUN. I love the movement yet I can still tell exactly what's going on.

it is a great image, but i am trying to understand how this could have been achieved (even accidentally), and I can't figure it out. Unless it is a multiple exposure or there are two or more images overlayed, of course. the effects it fantastic, both real and surreal. the shadows of boy's ancestors crowding behind him...

I was attracted by what seemed to be a colorful abstract, but then I was drawn to see what each person was doing. A great accident!

Do you even remember where the box is? :)

Well done!

Went through much of your work, and still am drawn to this...I think impressionistic, but still very clean somehow. Something tugs at the heart, probably the child like nature and simplicity? Would love to see more if you have it within this genre. You captured much here... :-)

what a perfect accident. Had no idea this was yours until I started browsing your pictures. I just love the whole feeling of this. Looks like a three generation family mingling together. The little boy must feel secure being with the adults who are watching and protecting him.

I really like this. Something about all of those arms and legs. It has a whimsy about it and I like the blue of her shirt for some POP.

This 'mistake' is fantastic. I like shooting from the hip myself and have on occasion tried to deliberately get blur into it. But none of my efforts come anywhere close to this. Thanks for the inspiration to keep trying.

I'm looking at this photo for the second time and still find it very brilliant. The moment captured is wonderful. Your PP underscores the feeling of the photo - very, very good. The title is very inspired.

This is awesome. I think a great title would be "One Step Forward to my Future".

this is just excellent ... an amazing and wonderful photograph and fantastic processing .. 'the guardians' or 'the ghostly guardians' ... probably a bit lame? .. and i reckon your title is excellent anyway .. :):)

Nice accident, Karen. I like the three shirt colors: red, green, and blue. They attract my eye and lead me around the image. Very fun exploring.

Wonderful ghostly movement. I think the blue shirt really adds an very nice focal point and is a good contrast to the scene. Feels like the shot could be in a movie.

Delightful image. Wow. The processing suits it perfectly, making it look painted (but by a painter with double vision, perhaps). The way the child looks so tentative really adds to the feel, and gives it something extra, something special. Glad you didn't delete this one.

this looks way cool! i like that the fainter images are more in focus than the solid ones. hope you'll make many more accidents of this sort :)

Oh I do hope you don't concentrate too hard on shooting from the hip correctly - mistakes like this are wonderful!! You could call it Family History, but I think your title works well as is. Love the processing!

This is pretty cool. It kind of has a genealogical aspect to it. The "double vision" showing different generations so to speak.
