A shot from the Smithsonian Folklife Festival's Mekong River crafts area. I don't know that I'd be all that cheerful entertaining tourists in that position for hours!

Since I exposed for the basketweaver and not the crowd I blew out all the tourists. I could have tried to crop out the blown people, but I rather like the solid reality of the people practicing ancient crafts vs. the ghostlike modern tourists. B&W enhanced that effect to my eye. We'll see what the voters think. Just need one person to see what I saw and I'll be happy.

PP - converted from RAW, cropped, converted to duotone, increased contrast, dodged/burned eye on main subject, added border, resized, sharpened

This looks like the guys that were in Washington, D.C. Or was that Washington DPC? Very nice: 9

A tighter crop without the partial people in the background would have improvied the shot

How does this relate to your weekend? Is this you? The blown out portions kill a photograph that was already shoehorned into this challenge. DNMC=1

edit;
I am sensing that you went to a fair or a festival to take this photo. In that sense I can see how this photo relates to your weekend. I do wish that you had tied this into your title somehow. the blown out highlights still detract from what is an interesting craftsman.

Taking into consideration the phoito itself, I would have probably voted it a 6 with the highlights and lighting the way it is. Because I feel you didn't convey to me the challenge, I am upping my original DNMC=1 to a 5, but will not give you the 6 I would have otherwise voted.

The blown out BG doesn't matter a bit. Great job of catching the artisan at work.

Was thinking it was blown out in the highlights, but I think I quite like the effect. Nice
