There are a lot of landscapes out there in the world. Not all of them are pretty, and in our mobile culture they are often viewed in transit, through a car window.

This is a classic American landscape, as far as I'm concerned. Perhaps the people who didn't like don't understand the American mythology of the road. The glass, the mirror, the emptiness, the containing car and the tiny vision of a car, the offramp and the onramp, going, coming and becoming, all are part of this myth. And the mirror reminds us that looking outside is not enough to escape looking at ourselves.

oh, and I love your b/w conversion. Great clouds and rich darknesses.

I second pointandshoot and skewsme. It's refreshing to see someone break out of that cookie cutter mold.

it is refreshing to see a creative interpretation of a challenge that is difficult to treat creatively. And, a great photo should appear effortless even when a great deal of forethought went into its composition. Keep them coming.

Who's afraid of the big bleak wolf? Familiarity breeds contempt, don't take it personally. This photo achieves a certain purpose. To disown it is to fail to recognize one's own face in the rearview mirror.

the mirror and the reflection in the window take away from the landscape. contrast is too high.

Not particularly well-shot (too dark/murky.) Are those window reflections in several places.
