I think my daughter was afraid I would wreck as I drove down the freeway holding up my camera and snapping.
Gotta give props to my buddy and workmate Otis, i had originally titled this "rearview" and he said "looks like a hollywood movie, like she got kidnapped"

*******************************************
well once again the challenge ends and i ask myself what i learned in this one. i think the lesson is that there is no room for "blown" areas even if you feel it adds to the mood or feel of the shot....apparently. personally this is one of my favs so far, just didnt connect with the viewers i guess

Staging a shot that doesn't look staged is an accomplishment in of itself (something I've yet to see gyaban accomplish) but more than that, it's just a hell of a photo.

Just a thought... Isn't this soemwhat like your other photo Day 16 (In and Out)? Is the girl looking at the road or is her back is to the road? and this shot appears to be taken thru the rear view mirror.

Blown has no impact on my scores. If it works, it works regardless of blown areas.

Don't be dismayed. Some people do not like the intensity of this shot or what it implys. But there are those of us who do. Good job, great title.

This is VERY good! The overexposed framing with the underexposed subject creates a stark mood that fits the name of this photo. Excellent job!

I like "rearview" better, because it doesn't limit my interpretation of the scene, and the scene begs for a lot of interpretations. "Kidnapped" just forces my thoughts on one direction, and I'm not sure I agree with that here, similar to many other commentators. Why couldn't this be a scene from Wim Wenders' movie, say, "Paris, Texas", but it must be a Hollywood one? As for the photo, a good one.

i like the colors in this one, but i think tha if she was being kidnapped she would be a little more distressed.

Taken by the passenger in the front seat, at least I hope the driver was concentrating on driving. Getting the focus was good, but given the scenario you set up with the title the person wouldn't be sitting up in the back seat.

goes with the nightmare image...the stroller left in the road..
cool processing & scary thought here. the juxtaposition of her face in the mirror within the rest of the frame is great-love the PP!!

The rearview mirror shot is so cliched I'd normally give it a 3 tops. But this surprised me, how well done it is. I like it! Well done.

This is cool and different...kind of modern cinematic. Great color tones, that seem to fit the theme. Well done!

Interesting photo. Might be a great OOBIE candidate :-) I think this one falls into the realm of art. The more I look at it, the more I like it.

This has a '70s film feel to it.

Eh, this could have been better, but I feel you missed your mark on this. The blown out windshield detracts from the main subject. There isn't a feeling of being kidnapped either. I think a reshoot could really sell this. Maybe lowering the camera a bit. Some duct tape? 5.

MAN - that's a scary thought. Great idea though. I think that it would work better without the frame and some of the ultra white cropped off of the top and bottom. Maybe it's just me - I've really gotten into panoramic crops these days. Still, I like the title and the image - gutsy choice.
