A Great Horned Owl in the Ponderosa Pine Forest.
Very strange and disturbing event. I have dreams about big owls. They don't hurt me, but they are in my dreams looking at me... all the time. So, when I saw this guy in the forest while walking on Monday afternoon, I was stunned.... these are nocturnal creatures, not often seen in daylight....and, in light of the need for an image for the challenge!!!...... a bit too convenient, don't you think? An owl in my dreams is also a death messenger, but I chose not to include that fact in the title, as it would push the image into the nightmare category.
Yes, the title is too long. I don't care. It was a long dream! |

| Nice sharp focus on the owl. A shallower DOF with nice bokeh would help with the busy background |
