While I was still working with diopters on long zooms and playing with extremely narrow field depths, I uncovered a bumblebee hive in a loose dirt pile - it was a fascinating thing to see... this image was nearly tossed, but the glow of the details made for an intimate depiction of the home life of one of the most valuable insects on the planet.
