very cool idea. i like the red of the apple against the green background, and how you can see where the arrow tip exited the apple. the shadow is great, too. the only suggestion i'd have for a possible change is to have a single-colored background (i have a thing for them, i have to admit), rather than half green, half black. -- gr8photos (7)

Nice clear shot with good framing. But not sure about the shadow in the background. 7 - floyd

I think looking at the angle the arrow is at would be a more interesting shot. So that you can see end of the arrow for DOF

Very nice still life. Nits: background should probably be more consistantly black, I see dark blue and black. I know you couldn't "do" anything about it, but the exit wound on the apple is burst out (couldn't you trim the edges just a little?) I told you these were nits, please don't worry about them. Great shot! 9 Swash

why is the arrow tip so clean

Great idea!! I think a green background on the whole would have been neat. To brighten this side of the apple, you could have tried bouncing the flash (assuming you used flash) off a white cardboard next to your camera, while hopefully still getting the nice shadow. 7

Nice shadow! Good focus. Blown out highlight on apple is bothersome. Also not sure about the green and different colored bg. Might have looked better with a continuous color.

Pretty good! Nice arrow and lighting. Not sure if I like the black cloth(?) - oh wait is that a shadow, upper right, like a tree? Anyway, great shot 9
