The specks in the black background are actually in the material that I used. I'm worried that it may appear to be digital noise to some people. This isn't the best but I'm submitting it anyway. :)

Great lighting--interesting effect without the stems.

Good detail and i like the shadows on the apples. The only minor (very minor) nit is that you can see the texture of your background. Without that, it would look like the apples were suspended. karmat

Nice set up shot. Moderately low interest. 8 Swash

This is a good shot. But, I can see a tiny flaw with the composition. The main subject is perhaps a little to central in my opinion. I think that off-setting the fruit, to the right and down in this case, would weaken the strength of the slightly overpowering background and boost the central subject. This is only my opinion. I love the way the apples blend into the darkness on the left edge, but there is a slight glare on the apple skin. Try bouncing or diffusing the light source in some way… That said, it might sound like I don't like the shot – on the contrary, I think it's a great shot (8)

focus?

I like the "lost edges" and the negative space, but I think the composition could be a little more dynamic - I really prefer odd numbers of things, and in this case am not crazy about the "centering" of the apples. lhall-7

very simple and good looking, would have liked to see the black blacker, if you know what I mean.

Nice rich color. The lighting is really good in places but there are a few overexposed places and shadows. I still think this is a nice photo = 8 Shiiizzzam

If the background was a bit blacker, this would have made a beautiful shot. Nice shot anyways though.

I like how the colors are very vivid.
