One of my favorite models ... one of my gargoyles.

Taken with a 70-200mm 2.8L IS lens from the other side of the room. Room was totally dark then lit by a Mini-Maglite with a fiber optic attachment. Moved the light around trying to get more light on the areas of interest.

Harldy anything done to it.

Greetings from the CC, well you have certainly produced a photo with some emotional content, granted its a bit of a creepy feeling that it gives me, but hey its a feeling! You have done a very good job on this shot IMO< not too much to critique, The lighting certainly serves to add a feeling of 'evil' as does the composition it really seems like this gargoil is creeping out of the nite shadows. Even tho it is a fairly central comp, the subjects positioning still makes for an interesting comp. The border even works well for your shot ( i generally hate borders) it is subtle yet adds a containment for the solid black bckgrnd. Very nice job, creepy but nice, I will leave him alone now : )
keep up the good work! and happy shooting!

Interesting effect. Almost looks as if lit by firelight. Maybe a red tint would enhance that impression. On the second go through, I upped the score on this one point. Looks even better the second time around.

Great light and very menacing as well. Like a monster appearing from nowhere...

Is it a large statue or a small figure you have used?

Incredible photo! Very interestingly, it seems like the light reflected from water... Scary, though.

I like how the face is in thirds and the frame works well, too. The lighting and tone are great for this photo.

Just perfect. I cannot say anything negative about this photo. (Thinner border perhaps, but that's just my taste). Beautifully done and dead on with the challenge topic.

The moving light has created a flickering feel - makes us look again to see if the gargoyle moved. Very myterious and unnerving. Lovely detail, great composition - 10

A great picture - but (for me) not one that seems to be "painting with light" certainly is dramatic and well positioned and makes a sinister object even more sinister. There appears to be no "movement" of the light source or use of long exposure and seperate light sources to create what I would call painting with light

This works. The subject and the challenge go so well together. You've really brought out the demon-character with the moving light treatment. I'd have given a higher score had the gargoyle been much lower in the frame. That would really have brought out the 'waiting to spring into action' feeling here. 7
