This was shot late afternoon, this little finch had a great chunk of catch light on him. The background was trees and the blue sky. No strange editing on this bird, this is out of the camera as I am not a photoshop guy.

This is about as good as it gets. The background appears pushed to the limit on my monitor, but is still a perfect canvas for this handsome guy and it's going to my favorites.
