Challenge: Street Photography II (Advanced Editing V)
Camera: Fujifilm FinePix S5 Pro
Lens: Nikon AF Zoom-Nikkor 35-70mm f/3.3-4.5
Location: England
Date: Jul 28, 2007
Date Uploaded: Jul 28, 2007

Well, looking back at the street photography 1 challenge I got 3rd place with a shot that did not have the human element and although I personaly feel it does not HAVE to have the human element to be street photography I decided this time to include some real human beings. I had almost given up entering this challenge until we went into town this morning and saw This amazing old guy and his amazing old bike. I do not know his name but the motorcycle was a 1949 Norman 197cc and when he parked outside the old butchers shop dated from 1890's I was in glory reaching for my Fujifilm S5 that happened to have the Nikkor AF-35-70 f3.3-4.5 connected. SNAP!SNAP! gotcha. It wasn't until I got home and uploaded to my Mac that I saw the JOY on the young girls face as she points across at the old bike.. I LOVE this shot, way better than my first entry and I hope you guys can enjoy it too.

Great post processing, I wish I had that motorcycle, looks English made, Triumph or Royal Enfield? Either way this voter gives it a 10. Beautiful work.

A perfect moment, and good composition. I kind of like the processing and kind of don't -how is that for sitting on the fence! What I like - the level of detail, and the illustration like qualities; what I dislike - the lack of contrast in the shadows, and the illustration like qualities. Bit of a dichotomy really!
PS Welcome back, MAK.

The processing gels very well with the whole vibe of this photo. Only the girls clothes give away the place in time of this photo. Very, very nice!

I guess Marac is back... Interesting, how the two today girls don't seem to fit into the nostalgic scene. Good PP, the muted colors match the scenery very well.

I don't usually like tone mapping, but i think it adds a lot to this picture. Gives it a bit of a Rockwell painting look. The kid pointing adds to that feeling - something he'd include. I like the subdued color tones as well.

HDR hater here ... sorry.
Nice effect for a post card but just too distracting for me in this context.
Bonus points for not making me cringe as much as some HDRs :P
