Jake and Derbi on the beach. One of those moments in life where I'm fortunate to be in the right spot at the right time with my camera in hand.

Very moving shot. Adding to favs.

I can see why it's one of your favs... very emotive if you ask me!!

Yeah, gotta add this to the faves. Its an awesome shot without even noticing the subtleties, but the positions of hands really make this shot for me. The out-stretched arms of the child vs. the hands in pockets of the adult, it all speaks so much. I can see why this is your favorite shot. It's amazing how those little things can elevate a picture from one level to another. This is a fine example of of a layered, thought-provoking, evocative image. Beautiful.

Wow. If I could take just one photo that speaks as much as this one... just once in my photographic life... I'd be happy.

Totally perfect, Kali. Kudos to you!

I'll agree with you that this is my favorite of yours, this is really awesome, love the tones, and the feeling that accompanies it, very nicely done.

Wow - this is powerful - the child that is in all of us running ahead while we look on, envious. Great juxtaposition of hands in pockets/hands spread out - it speaks, to me, of how adulthood can make us more closed-in than our childish selves.

oooh I love this

In thumbnail, I saw it as the child and adult versions of the same person, which I think is what your title is getting at, but at full size, I just think... wow... it's more like losing one's self altogether, an entry into the Universe as pure Being. It's a staggering photo.

His dad larger than mountains. Can build castles in the clouds. But today it's a walk to infinity, hand in hand with his son's delight.

Dark. A glimpse at the post apocalyptic.

edit to clarify: This is not meant to be negative. In fact, quite the opposite. I'm very much impressed by your work on this. The somber light is gripping and to me, almost sinister. Most likely a far cry from your intention, but nonetheless, my initial "reaction" :)

I've got to learn to elaborate more sometimes, eh?
