 Thunder storm at sea, offshore in the Gulf of Mexico. I was at the helm late at night and just hand held some 6 second shots of the storms on the horizon. Almost all of the light was from the lightning bolts, so as soon as a bolt
struck, I would cover the lens with my hand for the rest of the exposure. zoom at 55 mm.

I love how the cloud is lit by the lightning, and I'm again impressed with your ability to hand hold such a long shot!

Great capture, and that is a good idea if it is really dark to just handhold the camera. But the "calm before the the Storm" does not seem so calm :P
