A senior that frequents the Ice Palace at West Edmonton Mall. He is in amazing shape for his age, as I see him there several times per week. Here he is in the air, in the middle of a spin. I was originally going to go with a B&W version with slight noise added, but then you couldn't see that his hair is white and it made it difficult to see his age.

Note: I know this is a little over sharpened, but this a near 100% crop which is why there is not alot of detail (to get the angle and not have the boards/glass and dozens of shoppers in the background, I had to go to the second level + I only have a 18-55mm lens). I tried my best to bring out the details without ruining the image, interested to see if that will be my downfall or not. =]

LOL, love this. Very good detail and great stop action. You caught the skater just at the right time and in the right position (pony tail out). I really like the cross-hatching effect of the shadows on the ice. The grey and white of the "canvas" help to accentual the details of the skater. Your border adds interest as well. Nicely done.

should have shot at a lower hight to emphasize the height of jump

Meets the challenge. That alone is a nice change of pace.

Nice composition. Little bit more contrast and this would have been a ringer for the shadows challenge coming up. Wouldn't mind a little more contrast anyway as it is just a bit washed out looking between the subjects drab clothes, the ice, the shadows and (to top it off!) the dull gray frame. 5.

Nice patterns on the ice. Good composition. I would almost say that a slower shutter speed that would allow just a bit of blur would lend more of a sense of movement to this shot - but then maybe the whites get blown out?

From the thumb I thought this was a rock climber, lol. It's still better than I could do at any age. As for the photo, I really like the light and shodows.

I like the paleness and subdued palette here, not to mention the great timing.

Nice capture - Like the composition and subject - Seems to be a little soft and almost too smooth
