 Saturday afternoon now and this image is sitting on a 7.1. Go figure. I had a couple of images that were ready to choose from for rural but they were both a bit flat. I ended up driving downtown Sunday evening to shoot some city shots in hopes for something better. I got there early enough to find my location and get setup so that I could shoot as the sun was setting and into the night. I wandered down to the South side of the Scioto river and started taking some hand held shots before it got dark. Once i figured out where I wanted to be I set up my tripod. When I went to place the camera on I realized that the mount wasnt on the camera. For some reason I had taken it off. So my night was over pretty much then as I wasnt going to have enough time to make it home and back before sunset. Took a couple more shots and went home. Opening up the card I was pretty pleased overall with what I had. I am very pleased with its scoring though somewhat surprised as I thought it was overall a bit boring compared to many of the other entries. Oh well - guess I have to live with another 7+ score. Woe is me. ;)

Edited this up in Lightroom before moving it over to PSE2. If you want specifics PM me as I have the recipe saved in Lightroom.

This is so funny!! I was in Columbus last July on a business trip (florist convention) and shot almost the exact same image - see my protfolio in "Places I've been". But I like the reflection of yours better than mine.

First, no bitching about a 7 and no ribbon. You have more 7's than 99% of the folks who try to do their best will ever see - most will never see one! And you have a ribbon or two - you could bitch if it was a 7 with no ribbons at all. :-) Second, how do you edit comments DURING the challenge??

Nice shot. The Scioto is a good river for reflection. I got the same effect a few years ago from a spot in Centennial Park.

Somehow the waterfront looks real and the buildings look as if a model? I dunno. Good photo.
