Yes, this is my feeble attempt to recreate the extremely well shot image by MayaM. I set up on the Kedzie Street bridge looking south. There weren't any nice clouds or a full moon to work with, but I caught a train zooming by.

Maya's picture: .

I was using my wide angle lens, and couldn't do anything on site to fix the parallax (nor could I in post processing, under Basic rules). In Photoshop, I cropped and rotated the image, applied simple levels, curves, and bumped up the saturation a bit, USM, and resized.

[Post challenge] Woo! I thought I might get a 6 from this, but very nearly got a 7! Here's the shot that this entry replaced; I think it might have ended in the 5.2 range.

Congratulations on a top ten, this is a great shot, with an attractive golden glow. I think the border works well with this.

The wide angle distortion gives the photo a feeling of grandeur, which nicely complements the golden lights of the city. And the bridge forms a lovely diagonal too. Gorgeous urban shot. Congrats on a top 10 finish - it's well deserved :)

Rob - congrats on your top 10 finish with this amazing photo! It's very sharp for a 4s exposure. I think you definitely chose the right entry on this one :-)

Great Job! I meant to enter this challenge...but then forgot. Glad to see you held it down for Chicago. Congrats on your top 10, and personal best.

Beautiful shot. I really like the gold reflection. Congratulations on your PB and a top 10 finish. I gave you an 9, and for what it's worth, I scored this higher than the three ribbon winners.

I used to work in the building on the right in the foreground (startup company, yes our office suite was a condo).

Nice shot, always a good location.

I'm conflicted on this photo. I can't decide if the distortion at the top adds or detracts from the image. In the end I gave you a good score.

it's a good picture, i like that you have the bridge in the picture, as it seperates it from all of the other city pictures.

Very nice image. Those buildings on the sidelines almost look as if they are falling :) 7
